Animal Companion Loss Support Sessions
The loss of a non-human member of our families is an extremely painful experience.
Our culture does not prepare us for the honest and healthy acknowledgment, processing, and expression of our emotions. In fact, most of us are a lot more comfortable in the world of ideas than in the world of emotions and feelings. We haven't been educated on understanding, accepting, and expressing emotions that are intense and unpleasant, and many times we feel inadequate. Even less socially accepted is that the loss of a non-human companion can be just as or more painful than the loss of a beloved human.
We live busy lives and our busyness contributes to leaving behind emotionally unresolved experiences.
More and more science is showing the impact that repressed emotions or the lack of needed support at crucial moments can have not only on the quality of our lives but even on our mental and physical health.
For all these reasons, and because this has been undoubtedly the most challenging part of my relationship with each of the non-human friends in my own life since I can remember; I have decided to put my efforts into working on myself and diving deep into studying this subject and going through proper training in order to provide the necessary support for others.
